The Lampworks is located in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter -  just 5 minutes walk from Jewellery Quarter Train and Tram station.

VENUE INFORMATION

Lampworks is a former factory and is now used primarily as a film studio. There are toilet facilities on site, but they are not suitable for disabled access.

There is a bar which will be open for performances.

BY CAR

PARKING: There is very limited parking on Key Hill Drive.

There is street parking in the Jewellery Quarter, including a small car park on Vyse Street, next to the Jewellery Quarter Train and Tram station.

VYSE STREET CAR PARK: 36 Vyse St, Birmingham B18 6JY

JEWELLERY QUARTER MULTISTOREY CAR PARK: 103-104 Vyse St, Birmingham B18 6LP

Open 6am - 8.30pm so it is not suitable for evening performances

BY TRAIN OR TRAM

TRAIN: There are 5-6 trains an hour from Birmingham Moor Street and Birmingham Snow Hill to the Jewellery Quarter station. The journey takes six minutes.

TRAM: The West Midlands Metro runs from Bull Street in Birmingham. (From 26 July, trams will not be calling at Central Library, Grand Central or Corporation Street, because of engineering work. Bull Street is a 5 minute walk from New Street Station.)

 

Trams run to the Jewellery Quarter Tram station, every six to eight minutes in the day. (After 7.45pm, the trams run at fifteen minute intervals.) The journey from Birmingham New Street Station takes eight minutes.

 

The tram also runs in the opposite direction, from Wolverhampton to Birmingham. The journey from Wolverhampton St. George's to Jewellery Quarter takes twenty minutes.

ON FOOT FROM JEWELLERY QUARTER TRAIN & TRAM STATION

The map shows the location of Lampworks and the Jewellery Quarter Station.

 

Exiting the train station, turn left onto Vyse Street. You will pass the Vyse Street car park.

The long route:

 

Carry on to the main road (B4100). Turn left. Continue until you come to Key Hill on the left. Turn down Key Hill and take the first left on to Key Hill Drive. Allow 10 minutes.

The short route:

 

Take the first left after Vyse Street car park, onto Hylton Street. The road curves round; keep following it. Just before it turns again (to the right), you will see the entrance to a passageway on the left. This leads directly to Key Hill Drive. Allow 5 minutes.

COVID-19 - ATTENDING A PERFORMANCE SAFELY

Audience numbers at each performance of Descent are limited to 15, to ensure social distancing can be maintained. Please help everyone to stay safe. Wear a face mask throughout the event, unless you are exempt, or when you are eating or drinking. Remain in your family or social groups, and maintain distance from other groups.

When you arrive, we’ll ask to check your temperature

If you have symptoms of COVID-19, or have received a positive test within the last 14 days, we ask that you do not attempt to enter the building.

 

If performances have to be cancelled, you will receive a full refund.
